On Tuesday February 1, 2017, the Sustainability Leadership Program had the first meeting of the Spring 2017 semester! Once again, I am working on the campus farm project. We soon will be beginning to plant seedlings inside the greenhouse at the Field Station at the DePauw Nature Park. Every week, I will be going to plant/water the seedlings and check on their growth until it is planting season. The campus farm potentially has a new partnership with a local, savvy new restaurant of whom we will be providing food for from our crops.
The farm will also be undergoing expansion soon, allowing us to grow as a team and our produce! Our new manager, Malorie Imhoff, will be teaching us about food health and safety precautions and measures as we grow as a producer and distributor of produce.
