Indianapolis People’s Climate March

Though it may have been a rainy day, Indianapolis’ Climate March went underway. Starting at the Roberts Park united Methodist Church, we marched to the PanAm Plaza to attend the Indy VegFest–the first annual of its kind in Indiana.

The Hoosier Environmental Council and the Citizens Action Committee among others did a fantastic job organizing this event and making it a success. Indiana is one of the worst polluters and least environmentally conscious/aware states in the U.S. With such a large turn out of people fighting for climate justice, young, old, and in-between, it gives me hope that our community with rise above the corporate checks and Big Oil and Big Coal in Indiana.
